Study Break



This week I’m incredibly busy with school (midway through the quarter!) so instead of trying to play catch-up, I’m going to take a break for the rest of the week to work on my homework and study for several tests and competencies I have coming up!

Normal posting will resume next Monday, on February 4th.

I’ve been absent from the blogosphere for over a month now. Remember when my internet connection was down for a couple months? Well, once it got fixed I figured that was the end of my problems. Then my beloved Macbook died.

Luckily, I have a backup hard drive of everything that was on it–although unfortunately, I have no way to access it (Mac/PC file transfer issues, or something–according to the boyfriend). So I’m starting over with a clean slate.

However, I’m definitely trying to look on the positive side. The blogging break was kind of good for me! I feel like I was in a bit of blogging rut before, so during my accidental break I did a bit of thinking, writing, and researching to decide where I want to take my blog and what I’m trying to do. I’m pretty excited to re-start blogging.

So the highlights:

  • School started in late September. I’m taking Medical Terminology, Medical Insurance Billing, and Medical Law, Ethics, & Bioethics.
  • I went camping for the first time (in the Olympic National Forest).
  • My birthday was October 3, I turned 24!
  • The boyfriend and I took up a new sport: parkour, which is also known as free running (I added a couple links to youtube videos if you’re interested in seeing more).
  • I badly sprained my ankle and I’m currently on crutches (this is unrelated to the above highlight).

Also, if you’re wondering about the title of this post? Cephalgia the medical term for “headache”. 🙂

Lake Chelan, WA

In the middle of August, my family and I went to Lake Chelan. Lake Chelan in summer is a tradition in my family, we go every year.  It’s always really nice to relax by the beach or the pool, and this year we even did a couple wine tastings. I’ve been meaning to post pictures from vacation for awhile, but was too busy to go through them until now.


Me and my sisters also went zip lining! It was a lot of fun, and totally worth the possible death/dismemberment.

Of course, we also did the common touristy Chelan things like wine tastings.



Most of my Chelan outfits were the same: a bikini and then a cover-up to walk down to the beach. I’m pretty sure I wore only ten of the thirty-odd items I ended up packing. However, this simple sundress was a lifesaver–I wore it multiple times in the week we were there.

Also, interesting thing about the lake? There are tons of dragonflies! For some reason they all seemed really attracted to me, I couldn’t be out on the water without at least one (usually two) landing on me.

AWOL & Excuses


Hi everyone! I’ve been missing from the blogging world now for almost two months. Obviously, I could make a bunch of excuses (I will, in a second)– or I could just say that it happened and now I’m back on track.

I’ve been out of sorts for the past couple months, and everything combined meant that this blog just completely fell by the wayside.

So here are my excuses:

-I started dating someone seriously, and living in two places at once meant I didn’t have all my clothing at my disposal (or much of anything at my disposal)!

-My camera was always in the place I wasn’t when I needed to take outfit pictures (this is also not fun when it turns out your cell charger is in the place you are not).

-Work started scheduling me more frequently (however, that does mean more money)!

-I was uninspired by my closet, clothing, everything.

The last one is probably the biggest reason, but taking a break from blogging did me a whole lot of good! I definitely feel much more inspired when I look at my closet now. I have also moved, so all my stuff is at one place–in one closet–and I can see it all!


Week Off

After the last two days of not posting, sleeping for 18 straight hours, and a feeling of overwhelming exhaustion, I have admitted to myself that I need a week off.

Working my job has left my completely tired, along with Round 2 of the Game On Diet and lack of sleep–I honestly just haven’t had motivation to get dressed for anything other than work in the week.

So I’m taking the rest of the week off, catching up on sleep and hopefully creating a small backlog of outfit posts. I will resume posting regularly on Monday, April 30th.

Game On!

 The Book

Recently, in one of my online communities, one of the women started talking about a weight loss game. She told me it runs the course of a month and every single time she’s played she’s lost five to eight pounds. Of course, this sounded amazing to me and I’m always up for more encouragement for doing what I should be doing (like exercising, eating properly, taking care of my body).

So I signed up.

Starting on Monday (Feb 13), I will be playing the Game On! Diet. I am excited! I convinced my mom to join too, and we’re on a team together (we have 5 teams for our game). We’re all chipping in $20, for a prize pool at the end of $200 for the team that wins.

The best part for me, is that winning isn’t based on the amount of weight lost. The system for the Game On! Diet is based on points. I get points for doing things I should be doing. Things like drinking water, exercising each day, getting enough sleep, and eating 5 small meals a day. The more points you earn the better chance you have of winning (of course your scores are averaged with your partner’s).

So why am I writing about  this? First, because I’m excited. And secondly because I’m going to be including updates on my progress as I go through the game. Also, writing this will keep me accountable for my actions.

It’s also because I’m heading out of town today, and I need something to post in my absence. 🙂 So wish me luck this month!


Super Snow Day

  I live in Washington state and we almost never get snow. Never. So instead of doing the ABCs of Style prompt for today, I decided to put on my snow boots yesterday and enjoy some good fun out in the several inches of snow that came down in my area! We got around 2-3 inches close to my house, and I spent the day stomping around the town with my friend, Erin, and taking tons of ridiculous pictures.

Thankfully I haven’t had to drive anywhere (yet), so the snow is something I can enjoy unlike many other Washingtonians. Although, hopefully if you’re living in Washington then you’re enjoying the snow just as much as I am! I suppose you could consider this my daily outfit post, but the only thing I actually paid for in this entire outfit was my jeans. The rest was all gifts from my family.

Snow is one of those very rare things that instantly reverts to me to a childhood mindset. I’ve posted the least ridiculous pictures here as this is the internet, and because I’m still attempting to pretend that I’m mature and “grown up” (which is a total lie).

Texting: More Dangerous Than You’d Think


I’ve been posting only around every other day because I’ve been insanely busy. I haven’t had a single day to myself, much less time to stop and take pictures before it gets dark.

Here’s the example of my last week’s schedule:

Tuesday: Work

Wednesday: Hang out with H, before he leaves for Texas

Thursday: Work

Friday: A date in Seattle

Saturday: Girl’s Night Out in Seattle, crash at A’s place.

Sunday: Ride ferry home, have Sleepover.

Today: Sleepover ends, do laundry, get ready for work.

So essentially total madness. I had plans to take pictures, to crave out some time in the last two days to do so.

However, on Saturday evening before I left for Girl’s Night–disaster struck (this is overdramatic). Basically, while texting and walking down stairs (you see where this is going don’t you?) I managed to miss a step. This led to a fall, and a slightly sprained ankle. Of course, I ignored the pain and went out for Girl’s Night anyway. A little injury wasn’t going to stop me! So I danced the night away. And then on Sunday, I hobbled around like a wounded puppy.

I’ve been trying to stay off it for the past day and a half, and I hope to get back to posting regularly now that my schedule has stopped sending me to Timbuktu and back (Plus, I think the light is starting to last longer. I took pictures at 4 pm a couple days ago).

Life Got In The Way

 Life really got in the way of blogging for the past few days. In addition to my normal workload of multiple jobs, I’m also housesitting for a friend for the next week and a half! Obviously, the Christmas festivities have started to also work their way into my life, taking up even more time.

However, I’m hoping to get back into a regular blogging schedule by (tentatively) Sunday.

Black Friday: Out For Today

By the time this posts, I will (hopefully) have crashed into my bed and be sleeping off a successful Black Friday shopping trip.

I’m writing this at 9 PM on Thanksgiving Day, and leave in an hour to hit Wal-mart for DVDs. After, I’m heading towards the mall which opens at midnight and shopping until 3-4 AM. By the time I get home, I should have finished all my X-mas shopping and whatever else I decided to pick up.

Now, instead of reading my blog–why don’t you hunt around for some great deals of your own? Even if you decide to hunker down in your house, try online shopping. There are so many great deals out there today, that you should (at the very least) take a look!
