Outfit Details: Jacket: Northface, gift; Scarf: J.C.Penny; Rainboots: Rocketdog, gift; Jeans: Per Se, via Ross.

A Northface jacket is kind of a requirement for living in Washington State. It’s freezing, it’s always raining, and sometimes style comes second to comfort. Luckily, my cozy Northface comes with a cute polka dot print that works well with the only pair of rain boots I have.

Also–I’m obsessed with this scarf. I bought it before Christmas, wear it almost constantly, and I’m not sick of it yet!

Nothing Figured Out

Outfit Details: Jacket: JPG for Target, via Ebay; Shirt: Target; Jeans: Ross; Boots: Bandolino, via Macy’s.

So it seems my summer inspiration post was a little premature. Right after I posted it, we go back to the rainy dreary weather that Washington is known for. I’m hoping for another sunny day soon, since I really want to go kayaking.

Though I was excited to wear this jacket out and about. I’ve made it my goal to work this into my wardrobe more often. Especially since I’ve given up my strange fear of getting it wet (don’t ask).

In other news, I wore this out to lunch. My friend, Erin, suggested this place called Hop Jacks that has amazing drinks that are actually made in ice (as seen here). We plan to go back again later this week (or next week).

Afterwards, I ended up crashing since I woke up at 4 to get to work. Coffee almost has no effect on me anymore!

Haven’t worn these boots in awhile, but i enjoyed pulling them out again. They’re like the equivalent of chocolate cake, the best kind of comfort food only in stylish shoe form.

Just Like Jam & Bread

Outfit Details: Dress: Darling UK, via Saisons Boutique; Leather Jacket: Jean Paul Gaultier for Target, via Ebay; Shoes: Madden Girl, gift.

I’ve envisioned this outfit for quite awhile. When I bought the dress, I pictured it with this jacket (Also, new goal: wear this jacket way more frequently). The only thing I didn’t picture? The shoes. Kind of a problem, that. I’ll admit, I’m not pleased with the pairing of the boot. I like it in theory, just not in practice.

Admittedly, part of the reason the boot was chosen was because it is close toed, and my toes were in dire need of a new coat of nail polish.

Also, I saw The Hunger Games over the weekend! I was so excited to be in the theater watching Katniss, Peeta, and my favorite character: Rue. I thought they did a very nice job with the movie and I can’t wait for the next movie to come out.

Sweater Weather

Outfit Details: Tank (old): American Eagle; Sweater: American Eagle; Jeans: via Ross; Shoes: gift.

I bought this sweater when I went out with my sister. As a delightful bonus, it was on sale. I really love when stores get spring clothing in and discount all the cozy winter wear when the weather is still telling everyone in Washington that it is winter. I’m getting items I can wear 9 months out of the year on sale!

I ended up celebrating the end of my diet by going out for crepes in this cozy ensemble. I could only eat half of the crepe, but it was more the principle of the thing than anything else. And, it was a very delicious crepe.

I’m still keeping pretty close to the diet and exercise plan, mostly because I’ve been doing it for a month now and I actually look forward to my workouts and I don’t really mind avoiding processed foods.

EBEW: Green With Envy

Outfit Details: Sweater: Forever 21; Necklace: Vintage, local boutique; Jeans: Per Se, Ross; Boots: Bandolino, Macy’s.

Green: Everybody, Everywear

This didn’t turn out quite like I’d hoped. My sock bun is much too small for my liking, which is my main irritation. My other irritation is that the sweater isn’t as long as I wanted it to be.

Otherwise this outfit is nearly how I envisioned it.

This sweater is a recent purchase. I mean, it’s striped so I obviously couldn’t pass it up. And it’s green! I own a total of 8 green items (2 dresses, 2 shirts, 1 pair of shoes, this sweater, 1 pair of jeans, 1 skirt) that I can remember. Green does not have a large presence in my wardrobe. Plus, I figured that since I’ll actually be in public on St. Patrick’s Day this year I better find something green I can wear.

This necklace was an impulse purchase at my favorite store in Bellingham. I was kind of excited to add it to my outfit today, since I think I’ve only worn it a couple times. I’m trying to actually get my jewelry out a little more often.

Matchy Matchy

Outfit Details: Jacket: Old Navy; Shirt: Walmart; Jeans: Per Se, via Ross; Boots: Madden Girl, X-mas gift.

I didn’t realize until after I’d taken these photos that I actually matched my house. Whoops! Talk about blending in… Looking at this I wish I had added a scarf on top. A yellow scarf. Unfortunately I don’t own a yellow scarf, but not for lack of searching. The hunt is still on.

In other news I’ve discovered that I actually have a lot of jackets. For some reason I’m still in the mindset that I was last August were I was freaking out because I owned no blazers or jackets–so I keep thinking I don’t have any. And really? I have fifteen. I counted. So my goal for March is to wear all of them at least once. Prepare to see my jackets and blazers!

Also a super cool wind in the hair picture seems like the best way to show how great an outfit is. Plus, I needed a picture to pair with the boot picture.

In other news, I need to read a ridiculously large amount of Ada to get my “new habit” points for the Game On! Diet which ends on Monday–so no link round up this week. An outfit post takes a lot less time then reading my entire blog list. So you’ll just have to make due with pictures this week instead of links.

Target Grey

Outfit Detail: Scarf: Rue 21; Sweater: Target; Jeans: Target; Shoes: Steve Madden, via Better Than New.

When I went to review the Jason Wu for Target collection I tried on these jeans too. I loved them, but really couldn’t afford to buy anything at that point so I told myself I would come back later. Well, on Friday, I headed to Target and picked them up! (I planned on snagging the miniskirt I loved last time, too but it was out of stock. I was so upset!) Lucky that I went then, since they were the last pair in my size.

I wanted to do a grey monotone, but I feel like it would have worked better if my grey boots were ankle boots instead of mid calf boots.

Gold & Glitter

Outfit Details: Sequin Tank: TJ Maxx; Cardigan: Target; Jeans: Per Se, via Ross; Shoes: Madden Girl, X-mas gift.

I don’t have much to say about this outfit, other than I’ve been wanting to pair this tank and cardigan together for awhile. I managed to misplace the top, however, and it took me awhile to find it.

I ended up wearing this to the movies. My sister is visiting for the weekend, and so her, myself, and my mom all went and saw The Vow. Rachel McAdams is utterly adorable, as usual. Overall, it was a pretty good chick flick, but not up to the holy grail standards of The Notebook (Then again, is anything really up to the epic romance of The Notebook?).

The boots are surprisingly comfortable! I’ve been wearing them everywhere lately. They’ve even started to replace my go-to knee high boots.

The sequins on this shirt are enormous! And they also screw with my OCD tendencies, since not all of them will lay the right way. Also, you can see a hint of my current manicure!

Happy Valentine’s Day

Outfit Details: Coat: via Ross; Dress (old): JCPenney’s; Tights: Express, X-mas gift; Shoes: via Goodwill; Necklace: X-mas gift; Earrings: X-mas gift.

Interestingly enough, this is only my first outfit of today. I’ll actually be wearing three different outfits on Valentine’s Day. Since I have to work later and then I’m going out to dinner with friends! Single girls unite!

I wore this to a job interview I had this morning. Goal: Be stylish and trendy, but professional. Also, I managed to brutally injure my heel in Bellingham so I needed to wear shoes that went up over it and didn’t hit my tender blistered spot.

These boots were at a Goodwill about a half hour away from me. I almost didn’t buy them, but I knew I’d regret it if I left them there. I’ve been looking for boots like this forever.

Better Late than Never

Outfit Details: Cardigan: Target; Top: via local boutique, Nostalgia; Jeans: Per Se, via Ross; Shoes: Gucci, via Texas Gladrags.

When I went to bed last night, I fully planned on doing The ABC’s of Style “T is for Tomboy”. When I woke up late, that kind of put a damper on things. However, I figured I’d just get some stuff done in the morning, then get dressed and photograph my outfit later. Finally, at 6pm, I conceded defeat. The day had definitely beat me.

Hence why this outfit is not particular tomboy-ish at all. In fact, I photographed this on a Saturday/Sunday awhile ago and figured it would go up after the ABC’s of Style. Not the case!

This top is one of those that is strangely difficult for me to style. I typically wear it with the same cardigan, same jeans and just change up the footwear. However, this brown cardigan goes nicely with it! So I was able to switch it up!

In other news, when I went thrifting awhile back we went to Texas Gladrags which does designer resale. Most everything in the store was half off and it was like walking into designer paradise. I tried on every shoe in my size (or a half size up, or a half size down…) but these boots were the only thing I took home with me.

They’re probably the most comfortable shoes I own. Holy cow! I could wear these all day long and these suckers are heeled! Even better? I picked them up a very very cheap $67. Total.

As a warning: Monday’s outfit post is going to be late! I’m leaving for the weekend to visit some Bellingham friends. I’ve got posts scheduled on Saturday and Sunday, but I really want to participate in the ABC’s of Style on Monday again. But “Unexpected” does it give me too much to go off of.
