Outfit Details: Top: Forever 21, gift; Cardigan: Gap; Jeans: Per Se, via TJ Maxx; Shoes: Blowfish
While this is Saturday’s outfit, today (October 3rd) is my birthday. I’m now twenty three. Weird. I think next year will be interesting, simply because I’ll have outfits to compare to. I wonder how much my style will change in a year?
Anyways; this outfit. I’ve started to love bright colors more and more lately. This pink top was exactly what I needed to head to the store on Saturday. I could have thrown my white cardigan over top, but I wanted even more color. I love the absolutely wonderfully bright combo. I just wish my shoes had carried the same brightness through the outfit, but at the time I thought it would have been a bit too overwhelming. There are always outfit do-overs however, so maybe next time…
I’ve been crazy busy lately (hence the inconsistent posting) but everything for this week (fingers crossed!) completely is on track.
This post easily relates back to my Sunday Shoes post this week. I’m absolutely in love with this season’s bright colors. The Colorblocking trend is definitely something I plan to incorporate into my wardrobe. As someone who frequently wears all black, I’m looking forward to these added pops of color.
I think I’m in love with this guy–needless to say he has style. Those pants + that blazer? That = me swooning. Seriously, what’s not to love? I seriously wish the guys around here dressed like that.
Obviously bright doesn’t just extend to clothes. I’m obsessed with crazy colored makeup (green lipstick might be a little out there for me, but I’d for for purple mascara!), and I’ve recently started collecting nail polish. I just bought OPI’s Ya’ll Come Back Ya Hear? the other day–it’s a brilliant shade of orange and I was immediately drawn to it over all the other colors in the display. (I’m embarrassed to admit that I only own 2 different nail polishes. And I bought them both this year…)
Lastly, I’ll leave you with these stunning nails inspired by Prada’s Spring/Summer Collection 2011. Stunning, isn’t it?
I’ve recently fell in love with this pair of Zara heels that are wonderfully colorblocked. I originally saw them featured in Cupcakes and Cashmere, and then they popped up again on a different blog recently
taunting me. Unfortunately, there is not a Zara anywhere in my state, which means I can’t get a hold of them.
So here are some substitutes from all price ranges. I personally love shoes with a heel on them, so all of these have a little bit of height (perfect for a short girl like me!).
Can I just say love? Prices on these range from $26 to over $600. I’ll have to hunt down a pair I really love this summer (or save up for those Marc Jacobs ones).
