Outfit Details: Jacket: Northface, gift; Scarf: J.C.Penny; Rainboots: Rocketdog, gift; Jeans: Per Se, via Ross.

A Northface jacket is kind of a requirement for living in Washington State. It’s freezing, it’s always raining, and sometimes style comes second to comfort. Luckily, my cozy Northface comes with a cute polka dot print that works well with the only pair of rain boots I have.

Also–I’m obsessed with this scarf. I bought it before Christmas, wear it almost constantly, and I’m not sick of it yet!

Floral Polka Dots

Outfit Details: Dress: ?; Cardigan (old): Gap; Shoes: K-mart.

While on vacation I picked up this dress and one other from a cute little boutique. Unfortunately, I couldn’t remember the name of it and the bag they gave me didn’t have a name on it either! I ended up wearing this to my appointment with my hairstylist on one particularly sunny day. Highlights and a haircut definitely fixed up my hair after vacation!

In the height of awesomeness, I went to Starbucks the other day (and I was running late and starving since I hadn’t eaten breakfast) and when I pulled up to the window someone had already paid for my stuff. Pay it forward! However, my attempt to pay it forward this morning was thwarted since I was the only person in the drive thru.

Remember how none of my pants fit when I lost a bunch of weight and I had to buy new jeans? Well, it was the same way with any sort of professional pant. Since I already had to buy new black slacks, I headed to the Gap and finally tried on their slim cropped pant. I love cropped pants. I didn’t even have to hem these because they hit me at just the right length.

I ended up wearing this to my new Saturday office job. Then I went home and changed into shorts so I wouldn’t die from the heat as I strolled around town to snag myself some tasty peppermint ice cream.

Pollock Print

Outfit Details: Dress: thrifted; Belt: thrifted; Shoes: Ross

What, what? Dress posts twice in a row? I know, I’m just as surprised. However with the utterly gorgeous sunshine that has finally hit Washington state, I can’t bear to be in jeans.

As a bonus, I recently fell in love with this dress I thrifted over a year ago. I’ve worn it only once before, with a different belt. For awhile I wasn’t particularly fond of it, but when I put it this day something changed. I belted it, made the top slightly more blouse-y which had the added benefit of making the dress shorter and I went “Oh my god. I love it.”

It’s interesting how, for months, you can be ambivalent about a garment only to one day completely change your tune.

Flower Child

Outfit Details: Floral Top: via small local boutique; Tank Top: Old Navy; Jeans: Se7ens, via; Shoes (old): Steve Madden; Necklace: gift.

This outfit didn’t turn out exactly how I had hoped. I really wanted to add a jacket or blazer but these high waisted jeans made it difficult and nothing seemed to be working. I’ll probably try again in a week or two.

Sadly, the actual amount of jeans I have that fit is very small. I’ve so far deluded myself into believing that my jeans that are size too big are just “boyfriend jeans.” I do have two or three pairs that actually fit. This particular pair finally got hemmed and fit perfectly now! Sorry for the wrinkles, but I’m terrible about not wrinkling clothing.

This floral blouse is gorgeous, even though it does tend to make me look heavier than I am. I love it enough that I ignore that though. I’m actually delighted that I tried layering it over a bright tank top, since I tend to layer it with the same camisole over and over. I fully plan to work this into my wardrobe more often.

I’m starting to try and make an effort to involve jewelry in my outfit posts. Here’s hoping this necklace is the start of a trend! Also–I’m hoping this will help me hunt down some of my missing pieces of jewelry.

Also–I realize this is a super late Wednesday post, but better late than never!

Just What I Needed

Outfit Details: Lace Vest: Macy’s; White Tunic: Macy’s; Jeans: Target; Shoes: Blowfish

So I wore this out shopping with my friend last Friday, and I’m just now getting around to posting it! Whoops! I’ve kind of dropped the ball, I know. I might change my posting schedule a bit to be more consistent and just post MWFS, because in addition to picking up more shifts at work, I’ve also started dating again. How do other single bloggers keep up with everything?! I just feel completely overwhelmed!

I’ve started trying to haul out the items I don’t wear as often, because I really should wear them more. This vest being one such item, and the tunic being another. Also, this vest is gorgeous.

Fine By Me

Outfit Details: Tee: Walmart; Cardigan: Ross; Skirt: H&M; Tights: TJ Maxx; Shoes: Ross

In an utterly shocking development, one of my work outfits was actually blog worthy! (Excuse the wrinkles on the skirt–I’d been wearing it for 7 hours at this point!) Admittedly, I switched out my work shirt for this tee–but otherwise everything else is the same. I do wish I’d added some jewelry, but its just not on my radar at 4 am! I’ve started to wear skirts to work more frequently, because I’ve gotten very sick of ill fitting pants. Thanks to my shopping ban, I really can’t buy any new pants until it’s over!

And if I look exhausted, it’s because I really am. However, I’m not scheduled to work for the next week so I’m happily going to catch up on sleep and create a backlog of posts in preparation for the 16 through the 31. One of my coworkers gave her two weeks notice, so I had to pick up a bunch of shifts. It does mean more money, but it also means a lot less sleep!

Skirts also mean I can wear flats, which is wonderful since my feet have been protesting the constant wear of heels lately. These red ones are in a pretty close tie with my white ones for all time favorite flats.

Outfit Details: Purple Tank: Forever 21; Knit Floral Tank: Romy; Cardigan: Target; Jeans: Current/Eliott; Shoes: Blowfish, gift.

Wore this out to coffee this morning. The morning started out rainy and drizzly but thankfully, the sun came out! Of course, the typically overcast sky disappeared right before I took pictures.

This outfit is likely very similar to something I’ve posted in the past. I kind of just threw on whatever this morning to make it out the door. I’m not at my most intelligent (or thoughtful) before I’ve had my morning coffee.

Obviously, this is a pretty late outfit post because I didn’t get dressed yesterday. I ended up spending the day on Pottermore which has finally opened to everyone! I got sorted into Slytherin. If anyone else is on there, you can add me! My name is WillowScale15047.

This knit tank is gorgeous, but it is the worst in regards to actually staying in good condition. I ended up pulling threads twice in two minutes this morning! I’m always reminded why I never owned any knits before this year when I wear this shirt.

Nothing Figured Out

Outfit Details: Jacket: JPG for Target, via Ebay; Shirt: Target; Jeans: Ross; Boots: Bandolino, via Macy’s.

So it seems my summer inspiration post was a little premature. Right after I posted it, we go back to the rainy dreary weather that Washington is known for. I’m hoping for another sunny day soon, since I really want to go kayaking.

Though I was excited to wear this jacket out and about. I’ve made it my goal to work this into my wardrobe more often. Especially since I’ve given up my strange fear of getting it wet (don’t ask).

In other news, I wore this out to lunch. My friend, Erin, suggested this place called Hop Jacks that has amazing drinks that are actually made in ice (as seen here). We plan to go back again later this week (or next week).

Afterwards, I ended up crashing since I woke up at 4 to get to work. Coffee almost has no effect on me anymore!

Haven’t worn these boots in awhile, but i enjoyed pulling them out again. They’re like the equivalent of chocolate cake, the best kind of comfort food only in stylish shoe form.

Not Easy Being Green

Outfit Details: Top: Forever 21; Pants: Forever 21; Shoes: Missoni for Target; Necklace: Forever 21.

Man, I realized as I was typing up this post that the majority of this outfit came from Forever 21 (all purchased on different trips, too).

When I pulled this sweater out of my closet, I was feeling green. The green stripes just weren’t enough green, so I thought about pairing it with a green skirt I have. Then I saw the mint jeans that I love. Of course, I ended up choosing them.

These Missoni for Target flats have really come in handy with their plethora of colors. If I had been thinking about it though, I would have switched them out for my green leprechaun shoes.
