I don’t have much to say about this outfit, other than I’ve been wanting to pair this tank and cardigan together for awhile. I managed to misplace the top, however, and it took me awhile to find it.
I ended up wearing this to the movies. My sister is visiting for the weekend, and so her, myself, and my mom all went and saw The Vow. Rachel McAdams is utterly adorable, as usual. Overall, it was a pretty good chick flick, but not up to the holy grail standards of The Notebook (Then again, is anything really up to the epic romance of The Notebook?).
The boots are surprisingly comfortable! I’ve been wearing them everywhere lately. They’ve even started to replace my go-to knee high boots.
The sequins on this shirt are enormous! And they also screw with my OCD tendencies, since not all of them will lay the right way. Also, you can see a hint of my current manicure!

After cleaning out my closet, I got rid of my only sequin tank top. A couple weeks later, while waiting in the checkout line at TJ Maxx, I spotted this sequin tank. I didn’t bother trying it on and just put it in my pile. Perfect replacement! I was kind of worried it wasn’t flattering since I hated it the last time I wore it, but I love it here.
These white jeans with my boots kind of give off an equestrian feel to me. Every single time I’ve worn the combo, I feel like I should hop onto a horse and jump over a couple fences. I kind of love it.
I thought about throwing a cardigan or a long knit over the outfit, and I tried a few–but after awhile I realized I just didn’t need it. The outfit is fine as it is (although the weather helps, a lot. It’s not raining! It’s sunny!).
My trick for hair that hasn’t been washed in two days? Curl it. It gives me enough volume that I can make it through the day, so I can exercise and shower in the evenings. Plus, I love curly hair!
Sometimes I love pulling out super old items from my closet. I’ve owned this skirt for at least seven years and it still fits (it probably helps that it’s stretchy). It’s a very comfy skirt and likely my longest skirt to boot.
I wanted to dress in all neutrals but it didn’t happen. I got stuck when I hit the cardigan because I wanted an nice brown but didn’t have it. So then I just said screw it and threw on some red pumps. Might as well have some fun with it, right?
In other news, I decided after pictures that I really hated this outfit. So I changed. The only thing that stayed the same from this outfit to the next is the skirt. However, I didn’t take pictures of the other outfit, so I’ll just save it for another day.
I wanted to add some jewelry and decided that sticking with my theme of gold was the way to go. I hoped that a longer necklace wouldn’t throw off the look. I would say it didn’t. It pretty much blended in with the sequins.
Also have you ever bought something without trying it on? The sequin top was one such item. I saw it while standing in the checkout line at TJ Maxx. Instead of going all the way back to the dressing room, I just grabbed it off the rack and purchased it.
